Workout In Style: That Certain Something
You don't have to wait until you have abs of steel or perfectly cut arms to look great while working out. In fact, what you wear to the club now can actually help you with your fitness goals. When it comes to workout clothes, wear something you really like. Something that makes you feel great. Psychologically wearing special workout clothes will convince your brain its time to get your muscles moving. When you're shopping, think comfort.
Look for workout gear that whips moisture away from your body. Performance fabric that breathes and is quick drying helps minimize sweat during workouts. Don't forget your feet. Look for socks that are sports specific and have extra padding in them. Â Along with the socks come the shoes. It doesn't matter whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete. Wearing the right shoes for your sport is important. What works for tennis doesn't work for running.
"In the wintertime, I say clothe yourself in layers so you can peel them off. Because you don't want to get excessively hot while you're running in the wintertime. Peel off and then suffer some type of a cold response. In the summertime, this is reverse. You can minimize the clothing as much as possible, but avoid exposure to the sun," says Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper, founder and president of the world's renowned Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Texas.
Exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Remember, when you find it difficult to get motivated, get ready and work out in style.
